Teaching Philosophy

I believe design education should empower students to become critical thinkers, cultural bridge-builders, and systematic problem-solvers. My approach integrates my real-world experience with theoretical frameworks, ensuring students develop both practical skills and conceptual depth.
I foster learning environments where cultural sensitivity meets design innovation, where students learn to honor tradition while pushing boundaries, and where systematic thinking becomes second nature to their creative process. This is how I learned, and it's how I teach.
Every student brings unique perspectives and cultural backgrounds to their design practice. My role is to help them discover their voice, develop their skills, and understand their responsibility as designers in an interconnected world. I see myself in them, and I teach accordingly.

Student Feedback

"This has been the most exciting class for me this semester and a lot of that is because of you and your encouragement, support, and enthusiasm with which you believed in the idea and vision of me and my brand. I promise, in the future, the work I did in this class shall lead to a real product and my founder-led brand shall become a familiar name with its own story. Thank you for being an amazing teacher, Oscar. Best regards, and I'll stay in touch."

Student INTR2005

"Oscar is an amazing professor. He's very kind and explains things clearly. I learned a lot through his course, and it was very informative and well put together. He also gave us opportunities related to the course that we could check out outside of school. I have gained a better understanding of what to expect with branding for clients and about limitations I may face in the industry. This course has encouraged me to become better at visual design, wire-framing and being creative but still on brand. This class has also been good insight into real world marketing strategies. Oscar is a welcoming professor that takes the time to encourage and help students achieve their goals. - Much appreciated."

Student INTR2005

"Amazing prof! The assignments were very beneficial to real life projects and challenges you to apply the material we've been taught throughout the course. I look forward to learning from him again and his presentation design styles are always creative."

Student INTR2005

"I wish there were a class about AI so we could learn from Oscar, who is knowledgeable about tech trends and eager to teach."

Student INTR2005

"He is very good professor and he is very helpful introduction all the opportunities in work"
